Governor Newsom Declares State of Emergency for Wildfire Risks

March 7, 2025

On March 1, 2025, Governor Newsom declared a state of emergency regarding wildfire risks, which suspends certain State statutes, rules, regulations, and requirements that fall under the jurisdiction of the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) and the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA). Many questions remain and we look forward to receiving additional guidance from the State in the coming weeks or months. While updates to the regulatory landscape remain uncertain, Marin Wildfire remains committed to incorporating ecologically sound practices into its vegetation management projects to create more wildfire-adapted and resilient communities and natural landscapes.
