APPLY NOW: Low-Income Senior Tax Exemption

The MWPA is funded by a parcel tax approved by voters in March 2020. There is a low-income senior parcel tax exemption available to homeowners who meet certain criteria. You must re-apply every year before June 30th.

Criteria

To qualify for an exemption from the Measure C – Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority – parcel tax, homeowners must meet the following criteria:

• Owner must be 65 years old or older by July 1 of any applicable tax year

• Property must be an owner-occupied, single-family residence (house, condo, town home)

• An exemption application must be filed annually before June 30th

• Household income is equal to or lower than HUD income limits used to   determine eligibility for assisted housing programs;

        2023-24 Income Limits for Exemption Eligibility

          1 Person $104,400

          2 People  $119,300

          3 People $134,200

          4 People  $149,100

          5 People $161,050
