This project includes maintenance of an existing fuel break in the Ignacio Valley. This fuel reduction zone encompasses approximately 51 acres of fuel reduction treatment on City of Novato open space lands immediately adjacent to surrounding homes. Treatment activities would involve vegetation removal and trimming within 10 feet from road edge and up to 100 feet of structures. Environmental compliance and implementation were completed using local funds but core funds will be used for maintenance.
