Marinwood & San Rafael Open Space Prescribed Herbivory

The City of San Rafael uses herbivores (primarily goats) to remove light and flashy fuels to create a buffer between the built environment and wildlands in high risk areas throughout Marinwood and San Rafael Owned Open Space. This project will reduce the density of flashy fuels adjacent to the built environment, reduce ignition potential, and slow the spread of fire. Environmental compliance for this project is complete and implementation/maintenance is ongoing.
