Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Divide Fuel Reduction Zone

Example of a fuel reduction project

The Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Divide Fuel Reduction Zone project provides a contiguous fuel reduction zone between open space and structures located in the Terra Linda, Mont Marin, and Sun Valley neighborhoods of San Rafael. The fuel reduction zone will be approximately 7.7 acres of fuel management and an additional 5 acres of invasive species management on parcels owned and managed by Marin County Parks and Open Space District and City of San Rafael. Project activities target non-native invasive vegetation, dead and down woody debris, and other fire hazardous vegetation while seeking to retain healthy native plant communities. Environmental compliance for this project is complete and implementation/maintenance is ongoing.
